I was looking through some of the quotes I like to collect, and I remembered a favorite saying. The quote is, “To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.” I don’t even remember who told me this, but it stuck with me! <continued>
I am committed to trying new things this season, whether it is planting something I haven’t tried in my garden (sweet potato vines) to raising free range chickens on my land close to town. I decided I can’t complain about the price of food, nor the quality, without trying to come up with the solution I am seeking: finding organic food at a reasonable cost.
I am also getting to know all the ins and outs of social media networking that is so important in today’s world, especially for recruiters who need to reach a number of talented consultants around the nation! I will admit that I was a bit intimidated by social media, but each day, I try something new, and I am surprised at how comfortable I really am! I am downloading new apps, writing this blog, signing up to Tweet, and sharing photos on facebook! It’s actually a fun journey!
I think it’s easy to get stuck in a routine and not look outside of the lives we created for ourselves to find new joys and purpose in this world. So go out and do something new! You won’t be disappointed!Â
p.s. I will let you know if I am successful raising the chickens or not. We have a wolf pack behind the property so that is a little scary. If anyone out there has some “raising free range chicken tips” I would love to hear them!
